Water ATMs are solar-powered, cloud‑connected, automated water vending machines that dispense water at swipe of a RFID card.
ATMs track every transaction that takes place, which enables sophisticated market forecasting and proactive multi-unit management.
Users can access purified water 24/7 by using a prepaid smart card or coin system. The water is filtered at a central purification unit, and the ATMs help ensure safe, affordable, and accessible drinking water while promoting financial sustainability for the community.
During the COVID 19 virus outbreak, our technical versitality helped us to immediately update the firmwares of our legacy button operated ATMs and converted them to no touch, card operated ones to ensure safety of the users while drawing water from the water atm and ensuring their safety.

Piramal Sarvajal, seeded by the Piramal Foundation in 2008, is a mission driven social enterprise which designs and deploys innovative solutions for creating affordable access to safe drinking water in underserved areas. Sarvajal is at the forefront of developing technologies and business practices in the safe drinking water sector that are designed to make a purely market-based model sustainable in both rural and urban deployment conditions. As a result of our innovative and technology driven approach, we are daily providing reliable access to safe drinking water to over 7,65,000 people across 20 Indian states.
We have worked with the government towards supporting effective deployment of the Swajal Scheme, while also providing on-ground community mobilization support for Jal Shakti Abhiyan promoted by the Central government.
