PAY-N-PUMP is a solar water pump and irrigation solution that uses smart technology to offer pay-as-you-go water services to small-scale farmers. The solutions are delivered and installed at no cost to the farmer. Farmers use mobile money to make easy payments to activate their pumping system whenever they need it. The solution also comes with the support of agronomists who provide advice to farmers regarding agriculture best practices to help increase crop yields.
The Pay-n-Pump system offers two payment options:
- Pay-as-You-Go (PAYGo): Farmers can make incremental payments over time to own the system, making it financially accessible.
- Lease-to-Own: Farmers lease the pump and make periodic payments, with the opportunity to fully own it after completing the payment plan.
History & Development
Aptech Africa Ltd. is the EPC company of choice for solar energy and water pumping in Africa. It has offices located in South Sudan, Uganda, Central African Republic, Sierra Leone, Niger and Liberia. Aptech Africa was founded in 2011 as a distribution and installation company for some of the most reputable brands from Europe and the US. It developed a reputation for distributing high quality products and providing exceptional installation services which allowed it to expand to multiple countries.
This model aims to increase agricultural yields by providing reliable and cost-effective irrigation, boosting productivity while reducing the environmental impact associated with diesel-based pumps
