The m-PIMA™ Analyzer (formerly known as the PIMA™ CD4 Analyzer) is designed to provide rapid, reliable diagnostics in resource-limited and remote settings. Originally developed for HIV CD4 testing, it has evolved to support multiple assays with lab-comparable accuracy.

History & Development

The m-PIMA Analyzer was developed by Alere, a company focused on point-of-care diagnostics, and later acquired by Abbott. It emerged as a solution to close diagnostic gaps in rural and underserved regions, particularly for HIV care. Since its launch, it has become widely adopted by ministries of health and global health organizations, including PEPFAR, WHO, and UNICEF, and has expanded beyond CD4 testing to support broader diagnostics.
