History & Development
Founded in 2016 by CEO Joanna Bichsel in Rwanda, Kasha expanded to Kenya in 2019. It has grown from a consumer service to a hybrid model also serving clinics, pharmacies, and NGOs:
- Supported by DFC, Finnfund, Swedfund, Knife Capital, and others.
- Serves 130K+ unique customers and has delivered 1M+ product units, with ~63% as low-income users.
- Employs ~400 women agents, creating formal-sector job opportunities in rural areas
