Solution Overview & Benefits

The DLB fits in a backpack, enabling health teams to carry TB screening directly into rural communities. It captures high-quality chest images and integrates with CAD/AI tools like CAD4TB for automated TB detection, reducing reliance on radiologists. Used alongside sputum testing, it helps identify TB cases faster and at lower cost than traditional mobile screening units.

History & Development

Developed by Delft Imaging Systems (Netherlands), the DLB is included in the Global Fund's list of eligible ultra-portable X‑ray systems that meet quality assurance standards for TB screening and AI compatibility. It’s been deployed in pilots for active case finding in Nigeria and the Niger Delta region.
