Greenery Container Farm
Freight Farms

Solution Overview & Benefits
The Greenery 7 (50Hz model) is a high-efficiency container farm designed to produce fresh vegetables and herbs in regions with 50Hz electrical systems—typically in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America.
Built inside a 40-ft insulated shipping container, the Greenery 7 uses vertical hydroponics and automated controls to allow users to grow crops year-round, regardless of external conditions. It is ideal for food-insecure regions, institutions, and small-scale entrepreneurs looking to bring food production closer to the point of consumption.
Core features:
- Climate control: Regulates temperature, humidity, and CO₂ to optimize plant growth in any environment
- Vertical grow towers: Up to 3,000+ plants growing at a time, using 5% of the water required by traditional farming
- Automated nutrient and irrigation systems
- LED lighting system tailored to maximize photosynthesis and crop yields
- Farmhand® software platform for remote management via mobile or desktop
- Low land and water use, no need for arable land or chemical pesticides
History & Development
Freight Farms was founded in 2010 with the mission to make local food production accessible to anyone, anywhere. The Greenery 7 was launched to serve regions with 50Hz electrical grids, expanding access to its technology beyond North America and Europe. It draws on more than a decade of field experience, combining durable materials with user-friendly tech to make farming possible in even the most challenging environments.
