Solar Vaccine Refrigerator
B Medical Systems

Solution Overview & Benefits
The Solar Direct Drive Vaccine Refrigerator TCW80SDD is engineered to ensure the safe storage of vaccines in areas lacking consistent electricity. Utilizing solar direct drive technology, it operates without the need for batteries or voltage regulators, simplifying maintenance and reducing long-term costs.
Key Benefits:
- Reliable Cold Chain: Maintains a stable internal temperature of +5°C, crucial for vaccine efficacy.
- Solar-Powered Operation: Eliminates dependency on grid electricity, ideal for remote locations.
- Robust Construction: Rotomolded, rust-free body designed to withstand harsh tropical conditions.
- Extended Autonomy: Offers a holdover time of up to 72 hours and 21 minutes, ensuring temperature stability during low sunlight periods.
- Ease of Use: Features a "plug and play" installation with no batteries or regulators required.
- Remote Monitoring: Equipped with a data logger and digital platform for real-time temperature tracking and alerts.
History & Development
B Medical Systems was established in 1979 in Hosingen, Luxembourg, when the World Health Organization (WHO) approached Electrolux to develop reliable cold chain equipment for vaccine storage and transport in remote areas lacking electricity. This collaboration led to the creation of specialized medical refrigeration solutions, laying the foundation for B Medical Systems' commitment to global health.
In July 2021, B Medical Systems announced the launch of the TCW80SDD model, designed to ensure the safe storage of vaccines in areas without reliable electricity. This model features an 80.5-liter vaccine storage capacity, robust construction suitable for tropical climates, and integrated remote temperature monitoring capabilities.
