Bridgefy
Solution Overview & Benefits
Bridgefy is a free messaging app that works without the Internet. Perfect for natural disasters, large events, and at school!
Bridgefy uses Bluetooth to send messages from your phone to your friends’, over a distance of 100 mts. / 330 ft. (a whole football field!). If you need to text someone that is more than 100 mts. / 330 ft. away, your message hops on other Bridgefy users’ phones until it reaches its destination!
Mesh networks can be 100% offline. Literally, all devices can be on airplane mode with Bluetooth on, and they can keep sharing content uninterruptedly. Optionally, developers can choose to implement offline networks or hybrid networks, which do use some devices’ Internet
History & Development
Bridgefy enables mobile apps to function without the need for an Internet connection, allowing users to continue using mobile apps even in situations where the Internet is unavailable. The Bridgefy Partner program entails mutual support: We refer clients to you as they approach us, and we rely on you to consider us for clients who could benefit from offline app functionality. For each client you integrate the Bridgefy SDK for that we didn’t refer to you, we share a percentage of all generated revenue.

Specifications
- The Bridgefy app works thanks to the Bridgefy SDK, which is basically software that makes any mobile app work without the Internet. Instead of using Internet or phone services (like SMS), the Bridgefy technology runs on Bluetooth Low-Energy. This means that it connects devices 100% without Internet, and can cover large distances.
- Bridgefy uses the Signal Protocol, which is industry-leading encryption that allows you to share Bridgefy messages safely and privately. Please keep in mind that messages sent in the Broadcast section of the Bridgefy App, can be seen by all other Bridgefy users around you.
- Android users will see a prompt pop up when they’re first using the Bridgefy app, which asks for access to location permissions. This means that the Android operating system requires it from us app developers that need to use the Bluetooth antenna on your phone.
