Household Charcoal Stoves
CookClean
Solution Overview & Benefits
The Household Charcoal Stove is a temperature-variable charcoal cookstove.
It is made of mild steel sheets with an embedded pot skirt. The charcoal combustion chamber has a conical shape and is relatively small compared to a traditional coal pot stove.
The stove is equipped with an adjustable sliding door that provides variable temperatures; this enables finer control over the cooking process.
The Household Charcoal Stove is available in four sizes.
Benefits:
- The ability to simmer over night with ash remnants
- Not easily breakable as compared to clay-lined stoves
- Ability to limit the spread of ash during cooking most especially when fanning
- Adjustable heat regulatory system
- The predetermined fuel compartment
- Significant fuel savings
- 1-year warranty
- Light in weight
- Easy to use
History & Development
CookClean has spent the last couple of years developing its improved cookstoves while tailoring them to the particular needs of households in developing countries.
Standardized testing procedures such as the "Kitchen Performance Test" (KPT) performed by third parties ClimateCare UK, showed up to 50% fuel savings as compared to the traditional Ghanaian charcoal stove.
The formal "Water Boiling Test" (WBT 4.2.1) conducted by the Institute of Industrial Research (IIR) of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) of Ghana showed that charcoal stoves boil faster and consume half the amount of fuel as compared to the traditional charcoal stoves used in the region.
