The Radiance Compact lantern provides bright light outdoors, in an emergency and for people living off-grid.
A powerful 2 Watt solar panel recharges the internal battery so that users are independent of commercial energy sources and can run the lantern without the cost of fuel or replacement batteries. The panel is integrated into the top of the lantern.
Radiance Compact has 3 light settings – Hi, Medium and low. The lantern will provide light for up to 60 hours from a full charge. The practical design enables use inside and outside the home, on a table or hanging from a ceiling, as well as when walking in the dark.
There is a flashing SOS alert to support personal security in isolated or challenging environments.
Radiance Compact has been built tough and is designed to be used in harsh conditions.
History & Development
Freeplay Energy was founded in 1994, following the invention by Trevor Baylis of the 'clockwork radio', which was designed to help halt the spread of AIDS in Africa by providing much-needed access to health information and advice.
The company is now part of the privately owned Euro Suisse Group which has extensive interests in the developing world, where Freeplay products help to change people's lives.
Today they specialize in the design, development and manufacture of clean energy products for people living either temporarily or permanently off-grid. They do this by using their core expertise in solar, dynamo, and energy storage technology to create products that are affordable and reliable.
