PlumpyField network partners produce a range of Plump products, such as PlumpyNut, that are used for preventing malnutrition, treating moderate acute malnutrition, and treating severe acute malnutrition.
The PlumpyField® partners can produce the whole range of Plumpy® type products developed by NUTRISET for the treatment and prevention of the different forms of malnutrition. At start, most of the members start with the production of Plumpy’Nut® to respond to the most critical form of malnutrition (severe acute malnutrition). Then, as the production increases and meets the demand for Ready to Use Therapeutic Food, the members diversify with the production of others products and move towards prevention.
The products do not require any preparation and carry a two year shelf life, making them ideal for use in emergency settings or in remote parts of the developing world.
PlumpyField nutrition solutions are directly produced by network partners in the following countries: the United States (Rhode Island), Ethiopia, Madagascar, Haiti, France, India, Tanzania, Burkina Faso, Uganda, Sudan, Niger, and the Dominican Republic.
History & Development
The mission of the PlumpyField® network is to improve access to innovative nutritional solutions meeting international quality standards through local production, close to the populations requiring them.
The PlumpyField® network brings together food industry partners (companies or NGOs), which produce the Plumpy® range of products in partnership with NUTRISET.
